Female Entrepreneurship in the Middle East

In recent years, the Gulf region has witnessed a remarkable rise in female entrepreneurship, with talented women breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes to pursue their dreams.

Two inspiring examples of such trailblazing women are Rotana Alhashimi and Amal Almeheen. Alongside them, Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts has been making strides in preserving cultural heritage through artisanal crafts.

Our Vision is to bring our cultures closer together and offer you unique insights into the real life in the Gulf – you can join our Middle East Hub for ongoing support, questions and the newest information from the region.

Saudi Arabia: Rotana Alhashimi

Rotana Alhashimi is a Saudi Arabian entrepreneur and designer based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She has been dressing the women of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2006 and is proud to be the first local designer to introduce multi-coloured patterns and textiles to women’s wear in the kingdom. Her design incorporates a passion for the heritage of the culture and modern design.

She has also created a beautiful brand called Mihrab, which carries bespoke designed prayer mats. Prayer mats are such an incredible way of showing hospitality in hotels or gifts to Muslim clients.

Qatar: Amal Ameen

Amal Ameen, a Qatari entrepreneur, is a driving force in the beauty, perfume and fashion industry. Her love for fashion can be seen in La Boutique Blanche, which is a unique multi brand store born from the thought of creating a universe of fashion that brings countries together under one roof.

The interior design represents in every single element the inspiration of Amal Ameen; and its strength, shows a determined woman that is gaining attention in the design scene internationally.
You can find her stores Amici di Moda and Mahain Jewelry at Place Vendome in Doha.

Aside from fashion she has also created an incredible scent called Soul. This is one of the most exquisite perfumes I have ever worn and every time I do, I literally get stopped in the street.

Incredible right? Do you see that we have so much in common and really benefit from all coming together? But it always takes the first step – we can help you get clarity HERE. One small step at a time.
