2 Entrances for a Restaurant?

When I first went to Riyadh, I was confused which entrance to use in Starbucks as there were 2. 😳

One read Single Section and one read Family Section – I thought I am a single person I should be using this entrance.

How wrong I was.😱
As a single female traveller I was meant to use the Family Section as the Single Section was only for men.
I wish I had known – how embarrassing to use the wrong entrance and be told. 🤯

Interestingly this was years ago and now you will have to look very hard to find a restaurant with those 2 entrances (I did find one!).
Most restaurants nowadays in Saudi are just like we know it in the rest of the world – 1 entrance and both men and women can mix freely.

But the moral of the story here is: had I taken a course I would have known better. I would have been prepared and not felt that I didn’t know what to do.
