You cannot go to Saudi as a Western Woman

If you are a woman, you cannot go to Saudi Arabia.

WHY?
βœ‹πŸ» You need a male chaperone.
βœ‹πŸ» You won’t get a Visa.
βœ‹πŸ» It is not safe.

Let’s look at this – and see if this is true.
WHY?
πŸ’« I haven’t needed a chaperone even when I first started going back in 2011 – so many people think you need a male to accompany you but this really is not the case.
πŸ’« It used to be difficult to get a Visa (but not impossible, I actually never had a problem) and now you can get your Visas online – easy, peasy.
πŸ’« This is an interesting one, I have never actually felt unsafe – I have always been warmly welcomed and everyone looked out for me.

I purposely have added a picture here of me back from the day when you still had to wear a head scarf and abaya which was actually quite comfortable.

LESSON learned:
πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Things are changing and they are changing fast in the Kingdom – so educate yourself and speak to people who are there or have recently been there.
